This year The Santa Monica Farmers’ Market Cookbook was published in Braille by the Library of Congress. I’m honored to have my work represent local, seasonal cooking to the low-vision community. As I run my hands over the snowy pages of the three giant volumes, the tactile experience brings me back to our physical connection to books. This holiday season, give books. Give them to friends, to organizations (e.g.The Library Foundation, Braille Institute, Head Start, One Voice, YWCA), and by all means, give yourself the pleasure of a good read.
